Come find out if the Teacher Training and In-Depth Philosophy Study is for you. Bring all of your questions and we'll be happy to answer them. This program requires a minimum of one year experience, or special permission. It is designed for those that want to teach, deepen their practice or simply understand how to live a more yogic lifestyle.  Sessions will be held at Crescent Moon Yoga in Mahwah. Looking forward to answering all your questions.

Side note: I carefully created a schedule that will hopefully work with yours. As a busy mom with a full life also, I considered all the holidays, school vacations, and potential conflicts. I get it. Please reach out to me or Joanne with any conflicts you may have. Conflicts known about ahead of time can usually be accommodated.

Topics Included in the YTT program:

  • Teaching techniques and class safety: Master the art of creating intelligent, dynamic vinyasa sequences; guiding students with confidence while creating a safe and inclusive environment for all levels. You will learn how to verbally cue poses and transitions succinctly, adjust students safely and incorporate the use of props.

  • Dharma: Learn how to create and weave a dharma into your classes to provide depth, enrich, and elevate the overall experience and connection.

  • Pranayama (Breathwork): Explore and learn a range of breathing techniques, understand their individual benefits, and acquire the skills to teach them.

  • Meditation: Develop the ability to practice and teach meditation to foster a sense of inner peace and a connection to one’s higher Self.

  • Philosophy: We will dive deep into the yamas and niyamas and learn to apply them to your everyday life. You will also gain foundational knowledge of the Sutras, Chakras, Kleshas, Gunas, and Ayurveda.

  • Anatomy for Yoga: Build a solid understanding of human anatomy as it relates to yoga postures, learning to see the connection between the physical body and the asanas.

  • Sanskrit: Learn key Sanskrit terminology, including the names of the poses, to enhance your practice and teaching.

  • Components of a good class: Creating a sacred space, including heat, lighting, and designing a playlist.

  • Types of yoga: Differentiate between the various yoga styles and their distinctions.

  • Audition skills:  Get the audition skills you’ll need for post-graduation opportunities, should you choose to teach.

  • Ethics of yoga: Explore the ethical considerations and responsibilities of being a yoga teacher.

  • Business of yoga: Gain insights into the business side of yoga.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Minimum of 1 year of yoga experience with a steady practice, or special permission.

  • An earnest desire to learn and grow.

    Investment & Policies:

  • Early bird registration is $3,700.  Application and a $500 (nonrefundable) deposit is due by July 1st, 2026.

  • Full price is $4000.

  • Class packages will be 1/2 price at Crescent Moon for the duration of the training.

  • Methods of payment accepted:

    Zelle to Joanne Bernier (last 4 digits 9446), Check, Cash, Credit Card on Mindbody (see link and please note that the processing fee will be added to your credit card payment). If spreading tuition over time would be helpful, please reach out to Joanne at crescentmoonyogaandwellness.com to discuss payment plans.

  • Cancellation & Refund Policy:

    You may receive a refund of any tuition paid, minus the $500 nonrefundable deposit anytime up to two weeks before the training starts

  • Between 1 and 2 weeks before the start date:

    • 50% of the tuition paid (excluding the $500 deposit) is refundable.

    • Remaining amounts, including the $500 deposit, are nonrefundable.

  • Less than 1 week before the start date or after the training begins:

    • No refunds or credits are issued.

    • The full tuition, including the $500 deposit, is considered forfeited.

  • Cancellation or Postponement by Studio:

In the unlikely event that the training is canceled by the studio, you will receive a full refund of all tuition and deposit payments made.

Certification Requirements:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic asanas with knowledge of anatomy and strong, succinct language.

  • Pass the take-home written test at the conclusion of the course.

  • Successfully fulfill all homework assignments and required reading.

  • Settle any outstanding balances.

  • Maintain full attendance and active participation throughout the program.

  • **This program is Yoga Alliance Certified. You will receive a RYT-200 Hour Certification upon graduation.**
